MARINA RECEIVES PROVINCIAL APPROVAL

WAM Development Group and its Community Marine Concepts Ltd. partnership has received approval from BC’s Ministry of Forests, Lands & Natural Resource Operations for the seabed lease where it will build docks for the Victoria International Marina.

“This is an important step in the approval process that will soon bring one of the most modern, environmentally-friendly and beautiful marina projects in the world to Victoria’s middle harbour,” said Lachlan MacLean, Vice-President of WAM Development Group. “This allows us to get on site this summer and do the last geotechnical testing so piling engineering and design can be finalised.”

With the seabed lease from the Province in place and with the full support of the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, the Victoria International Marina project team looks forward to starting construction on the marina as soon as final approvals are received from the federal government, which we are hoping will be announced this summer.

“We look forward to creating new boat moorage and a key community space that generates economic and tourism opportunities for Victoria, Vancouver Island and the coastal communities of British Columbia.”

With this big step forward for the marina project, people interested in a slip should consider a Priority Reservation to secure their place at the marina. Astute boat owners have already reserved a number of slips, and with only 29 slips in total, now is the time to act. Slips range in size from 65 feet to 150 feet in length.

Priority Reservations can be obtained with a fully refundable deposit, and allows you to select your preferred marina slip. When the slips are released for sale, reservation holders will have all the necessary information required to finalize a decision about purchasing a slip. A Priority Reservation is not an obligation to buy, it simply puts you on a special list of insiders who have the opportunity to purchase first.
